Outrageous Lichen
This stuff piques my interest...the colors and textures are amazing, it grows everywhere, and requires you to get close and personal to really see it... More importantly, the symbiotic nature of lichen - fungus and algae working together to survive, makes me think that we too, as humans, may be able to pull it off.
